11 Beautiful Bridal Entry Songs

January 15, 2018

Of the many paths we walk, the one down the alter will always remain the most memorable one for any woman. A ‘bridal entry song’, as has become the term these days, is in fact quite a significant choice to make. Be it a song being played on loudspeakers or sung live, the sentiment still remains the same. This choice is a difficult one to make though, we understand that most of all!
You’d want it to be something magical and memorable and something that takes you back to that point in time! But not every time does that tune have to be ‘Din Shagna Da’. As much as we love the response we have received to our rendition of the folk song over the years, here are eleven beautiful bridal entry songs that go perfectly with the somber setting of Indian weddings, straight from The Wedding Filmer’s personal jukebox.

1. ARZIYAAN – DEVANGI CHOPRA

TWF’s newest cover of I Get To Love You by Ruelle, is this wedding season’s perfect bridal song. There is romance strung into every lyric of the song and ‘Jaan ban gaya tu’ is perhaps the most beautiful thing you could say to your husband to-be in that moment. The contemporary folk setting paired with Devangi Chopra’s voice is all the pop & magic you need to make your walk down the aisle worthwhile.

2. IK ONKAR  – HARSHDEEP KAUR, A.R. RAHMAN

It goes without saying that this rendition from Rang De Basanti works wonderfully for an Anand-Karaj wedding and it’s solemnity lends a beautiful new spiritual dimension to just about anything.

3. STARLIGHT – JASMINE ASH

This twinkling pop song has a little bit of everything and is just the perfect song for you to walk down the aisle to, toe-tapping with your friends!

4. KALEIDOSCOPE – KATE HAVENICK

With spellbinding vocals and angelic orchestral tones, this song just levitates the entire atmosphere around a wedding and right before the bridal entry.

4. MANQABAT (YA ALI) – SHAFQAT AMANAT ALI

A hidden gem, this soundtrack is perfect for a Nikaah and one that we instantly fell in love with! Hear it to know why!

6. PHIR LE AAYA DIL – REKHA BHARDWAJ

Who thought a ghazal would make for such a beautiful entry song? To be entirely honest though, this one’s in the list because we would love to see a bride walk the aisle to it more than anything!

7. TUJHKO JO PAYA – JONITA GANDHI

A cover of the original song, retaining just the piano and vocals, this song is a favourite for it’s beautifully laid out contemporary variation. Jonita Gandhi’s voice adds just the right touch of romance to bring it all together.

8. TU BIN BATAYE – MADHUSHREE & NARESH IYER

Another one from Rang De Basanti’s album, just everything about this song is perfect. It is a soft romantic song and it may be a little slow but it is equally sweet. The emotions it portrays and Madhushree’s classical voice would perfectly complement the traditional bride.

9. TUM KO – KAVITA KRISHNAMURTHY

In an album that is quite emotion-heavy, this song stands out as a pleasant light-hearted romantic tune and Kavita Krishnamurthy’s voice is fantastic as usual, making it one of the few good female renditions of a male song. The strong presence of shehnai, sarangi and tabla in the song also brings in a soothing traditional mood.

10. LAGAN LAGI RE – KAVITA SETH & SHREYA GHOSHAL

This is a song from Amit Trivedi’s early days and it is one that stays with you long after listening! Both Kavita Seth & Shreya Ghoshal hail from classical backgrounds and the contrast they bring alive is what a traditional song like this contemporary yet emotionally rooted.

11. CHAL LE CHAL – DEVANGI CHOPRA

And our very own, Chal Le Chal, created in keeping with the mood of a wedding! The cello, strings and lyrics come together in style to create a soul-stirring and elegant mood. A TWF original cover of Dust to Dust by The Civil Wars, this song was meant to be romantic and fairy-tale like in its wording. Give it a listen and let us know what you think.
